Dolce Italiano – A Carepage Post

Rosario had her upper GI. The results of the exam prompted her doctors to take the tube out of her throat and allow her to take clear liquids. She was offered tea, broth, apple and cranberry juice, orange jello, but chose il dolce Italiano limone (lemon ice) for her first treat. She had a few spoonfuls of the lemon ice and then a few of the jello. Later on, she had a few more with sips of water. It’s still wait and see on solids.

Rose gets hot and then cold and then hot again, probably from all the intravenous fluids. This keeps dad busy adjusting the bed and blankets, wetting sponge sticks, even rubbing her feet. We recite the prayer and litany to St. Philomena daily.

We had a few unexpected visitors who she enjoyed. She even spoke a little español. Now she is resting up to take a walk. Rose still has pain, but we are managing better. All in all, a good day.

People continue to offer prayers and support, for which, we are eternally grateful.
