On October 13th Pope Francis is going to consecrate the world to the Immaculate Heart of Mary! In preparation for that many Catholics are coming together and praying a novena to the Immaculate Heart of Mary which begins October 4th.
A wonderful website makes it easy to join in and pray together. Visit the Pray More Novenas website, sign up and they’ll send you an email with the novena prayer everyday of the novena. So far 63,197 people have already signed up to pray this novena! What an exciting way to pray and prepare as a universal church for this incredible consecration to our Mother.

Immaculate Heart of Mary, ora pro nobis!
My sister Cecilia and I loooooove coffee… here we are smelling coffee beans in a Meijer store in Ohio August 2011.
The Burrito Project is an organization of volunteers that make burritos and then hand them out (along with water) to the homeless in Downtown Los Angeles once a month.
I attended last month and was blessed by my experience. It’s very powerful to give of yourself and be reminded of all the blessings you have. There’s a wide range of wonderful volunteers of different ages and backgrounds and I made many new friends. When we were in downtown LA passing out the burritos everyone stayed in a big group, there were many head counts and the organizers made sure that everyone was safe.
If you’re in Los Angeles and interested in volunteering I highly recommend joining The Burrito Project. It takes place every third Thursday of the month. If you don’t feel comfortable passing out burritos or don’t want to stay too late because you have to work or have school the next morning you can come, help in the kitchen, make burritos and cleanup. Volunteers are always needed and welcome for both! If you’re not in LA then you can always make a donation! 😉 Check The Burrito Project‘s website and facebook page for more information!
Here’s the event page for this Thursday, September 19th 7:30pm – 11pm

This ad shares a beautiful and powerful story in only three minutes. It reminded me of the movie Up where they tell an incredible love story in eight minutes with no dialogue.
This is how storytelling is done! Grab some tissues, you’re going to need them… at least I did! 😉
